Do you have dreams of making money with Forex? At face value, it's one of the easiest ways that you can make lots of money. After all, all you need to do is to pick a direction to trade, then repeatedly buy low and sell high, and sell high and buy low... right? You've read the books written by all the great millionaire Forex traders, and now you're ready to start making money with Forex too! More promising approach is capitalizing on range contraction. This can be done on most time frames 4H and higher. For example, if daily trading ranges of given currency pair start to get smaller and smaller, it is likely that a larger move will follow. The longer the contraction period, the larger potential move after it. If one has hard time deciding which way to trade, it would be very easy to place a straddle order. Very simple way to implement this strategy is to place the orders just above previous bar's high and under the low. Stop loss could be about half of last bar range, with a target of something like twice the value of stop, or maybe close the position at the end of the time value used. For the weekly bar close would be at the end of the week, daily bars would dictate closing position at the end of the day.
Since 2007, the occurrence of shops vanishing with clients funds has become very rare. Over the last few years, Forex brokers mainly have been acquired by others, or the shops of the shutdown have been futures brokers whose clients were also able to trade Forex futures but not spot Forex such as MF Global.
The stock, futures and options markets cannot offer you this guarantee because the limited trading hours create frequent gap opens. Nearly all Forex brokers make sure their hours of operation coincide with the hours of operation of the global FOREX market.
And to further simplify Forex trading, you could easily limit your trading to the two most liquid and widely traded pairs, the EUR/USD and the GBP/USD. This really starts to reduce demands on your time for trading activities without giving up good profit potential.
With strong Eurozone data and ahead of Canadian CPI, we are naturally drawn to the EUR/CAD today. Well, the EUR/CAD has been trending higher since the end of February after it created a false break reversal pattern around the 1.38 handle. It tried to break below that support level several times, but failed.
